The head of the Russian delegation to the talks of Astana Alexander Lavrentev at a press conference at the end of the 13th round of the series of meetings of Astana, stressed in response to a question on guaranteeing the rights of the Kurdish people in the Syrian constitution, Lavrentev said Moscow encourages dialogue between Self-Administration and the government in Damascus, adding “We support the dialogue and this makes our position different from the positions of the rest of the parties.”
Lavrentev stressed that the Kurds are part of the Syrian society and liberated their areas from Daesh through cooperation with the Arab tribes.
He pointed out that reaching a solution between the Self-Administration and the Damascus government is to ensure that the Kurdish people get their rights as well as to dispel their fears for their fate and to maintain their representation in the different bodies on the unified Syrian territory.
