A statement regarding the violations of the Turkish regime against political prisoners, and Ocalan’s leaders

Information has been obtained that Turkish prisons where thousands of opinion prisoners, politicians and journalists are being held in detention centers amid Covid-19 outbreak there, amid complete secrecy by the Turkish state authorities on the subject and their exploitation of the exceptional circumstances the world is going through to implement its hostile aims against the Kurdish people.

On Monday, in this regard, the General Council of Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued a written statement to public opinion, in which it indicated that Turkey’s refusal to visit requests submitted by the family and lawyers to meet Abdullah Ocalan’s leader in the difficult circumstances and the pandemic that is sweeping Turkey is a provocation to the Kurdish people and a flagrant violation of law and human values both.

Covid -19 has swept several countries in the world causing cripple of the world’s states, the Turkish state continues with its fascist and aggressive policies on the peoples of the region in general and the Kurdish people in particular inside Turkey and the region in general ,it is still practicing aggression by itself or with the support of extremist fundamentalist gangs and mercenaries in Syria, just as it is working hard to undermine the stability of areas that were liberated from ISIS/Daesh in particular in various ways, and to make demographic change in the occupied areas

As for inside Turkey, the Turkish state continues to exert all its power to tighten on political detainees, journalists, and prisoners of opinion. In these circumstances, it is secretive of prisons conditions and prevents any contact with the family except in a very limited form and in the form determined by it; in addition to these risks, fascist Turkey is still practicing isolation on Abdullah Ocalan’s leader, where all requests for visits from his family and lawyers are being refused, these practices in the light of the difficult circumstances and the pandemic that is sweeping Turkey and the region are a provocation to the Kurdish people and a flagrant violation of law and human values ​​alike.

 We also turn to our entire people to work in all democratic ways in accordance with the available capabilities and express their positions with the need to adhere to the important preventive health measures in order to lift the isolation on Ocalan’s leader and improve the conditions of political detainees in Turkey, as well as insisting on forcing Turkey to abide by the international covenants in which the world operates all in light of the rapid developments taking place. “
