Thousands of women from the cities of Tirbespiyê, Girkê Legê, and Dêrik gathered in the village of Endîwer at the border of Cizîra Botan, North Kurdistan, in order to celebrate March 8 Women’s Day.

Women gathering at the border carry banners reading “Organized women are guarantors of a democratic society”, “Free women towards free society”, Rojava Revolution is women’s revolution”, and “Revolutionary women struggle to the end”. The banners were in languages of Kurdish, Arabic, and Syriac.

YPJ fighters, female members of Self-Defense Forces, Cezîre Canton Co-President Hediya Yûsif, Democratic Autonomous Administration representatives and members of civil society organizations also joined women at the border.

Female members Asayîş (Public Security Forces) set several security points at the entrance and exit of the are where the celebration is going to take place. The celebration will start soon.
