Union of Democratic Media congrats press Day on all Kurdish journalists
The general coordinator of the Union of Democratic Media congratulated all Kurdish journalists on Kurdistan Press Day, which marks the anniversary of the first Kurdish newspaper’s printing 122 years ago.
The general coordinator of the Union of the Democratic Media issued a written statement explaining that Kurdish journalists will not accept the pressure by occupying forces on the media, saying: “In the face of pressure and repression by fascism, free and democratic media will not back down from its values and principles, and will continue its struggle
“Press is the biggest crime in Turkey!”
The statement referred to the Turkish state’s pressure on the side and continued: “The biggest crime in Turkey is to show the truth to society, that is, to be a journalist. Hundreds of journalists are detained in prison. Turkey promises to arrest journalists in the world, all over the world, prisoners are released because of the coronavirus outbreak, but the fascist AKP-MHP authorities keep and prepare a law for all those who think freely, led by journalists in prisons. With this law, a decision has been made to kill journalists. In the face of this power that issued the decision to mass murder, the free and democratic media will continue to struggle until this power is overthrown.
“There will be no compromise“
In the face of the pressures of fascism that does not compromise the free and democratic media on its principles and continues its course. It will continue his struggle against injustice and oppression in all arenas, notably the Bakûr of Kurdistan and Turkey.
