The PYD and the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party(Yekiti ) in Syria are discussing developments in the situation in Rojava and the region, and are stressing the progress of the joint struggle and categorically reject Turkish threats against Rojava and northeastern Syria.
On the evening of Thursday, 1 August 2019, Suleiman Arab, representative of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in the region at the representative office in Sulaymaniyah, received a delegation from the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria (Yekiti) headed by Mr. Mohieldin Sheikh Ali, the party’s secretary, accompanied by Saleh Mamo representative of the party in Hewler and Saleh Bozan representative of the party in Sulaymaniyah.
The meeting was held in a positive atmosphere in which many topics and political and security developments were discussed in Rojava and the region. The two sides affirmed the common principles and understandings between the two brotherly parties on the basis of their effective partnership in the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Council(MSD) and the position of the Turkish occupation and the terrorist factions associated with it. As well as the situation in Afrin and the need to end the occupation on a final basis, also stand in the face of repeated Turkish threats towards Rojava and the entire geography of northern and eastern Syria and prepare to confront them at all levels.
The other axis discussed during the meeting was the emphasis on the need to build Kurdish unity internally and externally in order to face the current challenges.
On the other hand, the two sides expressed their disappointment with the current silence of the political forces in Başûr Kurdistan towards the situation in Rojava and the repeated Turkish threats aimed at eliminating the Kurdish people and their political will. In turn, the two sides demanded the political forces in the region to stop supporting the Turkish policies, hostile to the political project and in Rojava and northern and eastern Syria.
In addition to these axes, the two sides discussed a number of other issues, including the position on the policies of the Syrian regime, the current Russian presence in Syria, the continuation of the war against the terrorist organization of Daesh and the need to establish a fair court under UN auspices and the common struggle.
