Anwar Muslim: Democracy is the only way to solve the current crisis

The Co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, (PYD) Anwar Muslim, said that the various issues in the country should be resolved with the participation of the Syrians in general, and stressed “refusing to resort to military options and belief in peaceful and democratic solutions only.

Anwar Muslim in an interview with Al Arabiya Net: “Our party participates in discussions with Damascus and we see that the various issues in the country should be resolved with the participation of the Syrians, so we reject resorting to military options and believe that peaceful and democratic solutions are the only way to solve the current crisis in the country.

He regretted the lack of a response by the Syrian regime despite the lapse of 9 years since the crisis, saying: “Some Syrian parties are still far from solutions and have not produced a lesson from the long years of conflict.”

Anwar Muslim said that the current crisis has no solution to the means of violence, and that “the Syrians have made sacrifices during the past nine years, and we need to build a democratic system that guarantees the rights of all Syrians, including the Kurdish people.”

He pointed out that “the political solution in Syria is still far away as a result of international and regional conflicts in the country, as well as the result of the desire of some parties to manage this crisis and extend its life. Therefore, the solution in Syria is linked to the worsening situation in the Middle East, and it seems clear that the situation will not stabilize in a short period with the presence of This desire for conflict. ”

Muslim has made clear that they also have relations with international parties interested in the Syrian issue and they depend on a basic principle which is preserving the interests of all ethnicities in Syria, and that they have relations with international parties such as Washington and Russia, and they are influencing the Syrian issue.

Muslim pointed out during his speech to the importance of the consensus participation of all popular components in the Democratic Autonomy Department, and he said: “Our party participated actively in establishing the Democratic Autonomy Department in 2014 and there are Kurdish and Arab parties that participate in decision-making through administrative councils and in which all components participate in a way Okay. ”

Anwar Muslim also stressed “the need for all parties to participate in the Democratic Autonomy Department.” He added that “intellectual and cultural differences within this administration enrich our society.”

Regarding the accusations leveled against his party in connection with the “PKK”, Muslim said: “The Democratic Union Party is a Syrian party that operates within the Syrian geography and is not a party to any other party,” adding that “we are in relationship with the various Kurdish parties.”
