“Turkey is involved in the Tripoli battle by sending weapons and equipment to terrorists across Malta,” Libyan National Army spokesman Major General Ahmed al-Mesmari said on Saturday (April 12).
During a press conference held by al-Mesmari on Saturday, he confirmed that the Libyan national army is carrying out a battle with terrorist groups, which receive direct support from Turkey.
“There are boats sailing from Turkey loaded with weapons and equipment and terrorists, passing through Malta to Misrata,” he said, adding that “flights from Turkey are transporting al-Nusra fighters who fought in Syria towards Libya.”
The Libyan official pointed to the increasing number of foreign terrorists in Libya, adding: “We expect in the coming days of suicide bombings and booby-traps, but our national armed forces able to deal with them.”
It is worth mentioning that several ships carrying weapons destined for terrorists in Libya from Turkey, Turkish-made weapons, were seized.
