A denunciation statement regarding the strangulation of Afrin elderly

Since its occupation of Afrin, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries continue to commit the most horrific crimes and the most heinous crimes against the people of Afrin, especially women, and the mercenaries, on April 18 this year, strangled an elderly Afrin woman (80) years old in the village of “Haikja” of the Shia district, and arrested her children And her relatives and taking them to Turkey.

This shameful and immoral crime is not the first committed by the Turkish occupation against the women of Afrin. Cases of murder and rape were frequently repeated. Not to mention the organized change of the demographic of Afrin region and the distortion and theft of its natural and historical features in front of the world, which remains silent in front of all its violations and atrocities of acts that are incompatible with international humanitarian law and international human rights standards.
We at the Women’s Union in the Democratic Union Party condemn and denounce this heinous incident and call on human rights organizations concerned with women’s rights to investigate the issue and hold perpetrators accountable, and deter the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries for their crimes and violations that violate all international standards and norms.
