Pentagon: We to support Asayish in Northern Syria to Maintain Security

The Pentagon has revealed that it has reached a “tentative agreement” with Turkey on a “security mechanism along the Turkish border,” which Washington believes will allay Turkey’s concerns and will provide support to Asayish forces in northern Syria to maintain security. The SDF will focus on protecting the region from ISIS rather than being preoccupied with the possibility of a Turkish attack.
“Through last week’s military talks in Ankara, a preliminary agreement was reached on a security mechanism along the Turkish border, which would allay Turkey’s security concerns and at the same time help protect the security of northeastern Syria, so that it cannot ISIS has never returned. ”
“The initial agreement with Turkey will push our allies and partners to focus on their goal, which is to eliminate ISIS completely.”
