Kurdish Language Foundation: Protection of Kurdish language is basis for achieving national unity

The Kurdish Language Foundation in Qamishlo congratulated the Kurdish Language Day which falls on May 15th each year, and appealed to the Kurds to get around the Kurdish language because it “forms the basis for achieving the national unity.”

In conjunction with the Kurdish Language Day which falls on May 15th each year, the Kurdish Language Foundation in Qamishlo issued a statement, congratulating this occasion on everybody.

The statement was read by the administrator of the Kurdish Language Foundation, Gulê  Hassen during a gathering in front of the Kurdish Language Foundation Center in Qamishlo, and the members and representatives of the Kurdish Language Foundation, the management of schools in Qamishlo canton, the Education Body in al-Jazeera region, the Education Committee in Qamishlo and Kobane cantons, and the members of the Martyr Agîd Çîlo Academy for specializations and curricula of the Kurdish language in al-Jazeera region attended.”

The statement congratulated the Kurdish people on the occasion of the Kurdish Language Day, and also stressed the importance of continuing the struggle at the level of strengthening the Kurdish language. It said: “We confirm our insistence on moving forward to develop the Kurdish language and literature despite all forms of oppression, injustice and racist practices because circumventing the Kurdish language is a basis for achieving the national unity.”

The statement recalled all the martyrs of freedom represented in the person of the martyrs Ferzad Kemankir, Vian Amara and Agîd Çîlo. It also appealed to all the Kurdish people to confront the conspiracies being hatched against them and to circumvent the national identity, so that we can provide a free homeland to our children in the future.
