Autonomous Administration: Nine quarantine centers prepared

The co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria confirmed that nine quarantine centers are completed in the Autonomous areas, which have been equipped with the necessary equipment at the present time and they are going to take further action if the status quo continues.

The co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria, Berivan Khaled, indicated during a statement to our agency to the actions and plans taken by the administration to address the threat of the Corona epidemic in this regard.

“The administration has issued a number of precautionary measures, including suspending school, preventing gatherings, closing border crossings and curfews, in conjunction with the sterilization campaign throughout northeastern Syria,” said Berivan Khaled.

The curfew could be extended, noting that they had declared a curfew as a preliminary phase and a precautionary step for 15 days to prevent the epidemic, and that the ban could be extended if necessary. She said.

Khaled said the relevant authorities are following the situation on a daily basis, discussing developments and taking the necessary measures.

Earlier, the Autonomous Administration had formed a crisis cell, with the task of equipping hospitals and quarantine areas, and identifying the situation in general, with all the Autonomous Administration and civil society organizations temporarily suspending their work.

Khaled said they have equipped nine quarantine centers in northeastern Syria to be transported to them in suspected cases of the virus.

She noted that they were in the process of equipping quarantine and medical centers in coordination between the administration and the crisis cell that had been formed for this purpose.

“All service and medical committees and the internal security forces are at the head of their work, and are ready to respond to any emergency that may occur in all areas of northeastern Syria.

The possibility of further action

She also revealed that it is possible for the Administration to take further action that will be announced later, if the situation continues as it is now.

In conclusion, she appealed to the people of northeastern Syria to abide by the decisions of the administration and their homes in the current period to protect themselves and their families from the risk of contracting the epidemic.
